Fragrances

Fragrance compounds developed by application, from perfume and deodorant to soap, detergent and candles.

Perfume, Personal Care, Home and Ambient · Last updated:

A fragrance compound is a concentrated blend of natural and synthetic aromatic ingredients used to give a product its scent. It is not used on its own: it is added to a base such as perfume, soap, detergent or candle wax at a dosage set by the product and the desired intensity.

Why are fragrances grouped by application?

Every base carries scent differently. An alcohol-based perfume, a surfactant-rich shampoo, a high-pH soap and a heated candle all react differently to the same fragrance. That is why we group our fragrances by application and recommend scents that stay stable and perform well in each base.

Which fragrance groups do we offer?

Group Applications
Perfume and deodorant fragrances Perfume, cologne, deodorant, body mist
Personal care fragrances Liquid soap, shower gel, lotion, hand cream
Hair care fragrances Shampoo, conditioner, hair oil
Skin care and cleansing fragrances Face wash, toner, cream
Laundry care fragrances Detergent, fabric softener, laundry perfume
Industrial cleaning and home care fragrances Surface cleaner, floor cleaner, dishwashing liquid
Candle and home fragrances Candles, room spray, reed diffuser

How to choose a fragrance

  1. Define your product type and base.
  2. Choose a target fragrance family (floral, woody, fresh, oriental, fruity, etc.).
  3. Request samples and test them in your base.
  4. Confirm the dosage with a small trial.

Usage limits for fragrances in cosmetics and household products are set by product category in the standards of the International Fragrance Association (IFRA).
