What is a fragrance compound and what is it used for?
A fragrance compound is a concentrated blend of natural and synthetic aromatic ingredients used to give a product its scent. It is not used on its own; it is added to the base of products such as perfume, soap, shampoo, detergent, candles and room fragrance at a dosage set by product type and desired intensity.
What is the difference between a fragrance, a flavour and an extract?
A fragrance compound gives scent to cosmetics, cleaning and home products. A flavouring gives taste and aroma to food and is subject to food regulations. An extract is a plant's components obtained with a solvent such as water, glycerine, alcohol or oil, used in areas from cosmetics to food.
How much fragrance should I add to my product?
Dosage depends on product type, base and target intensity: perfumes use high levels, shampoos and detergents low ones. Upper limits for cosmetics and household products are set by product category in the IFRA Standards. We recommend confirming the exact level with a small trial in your own base.
Can I get samples?
Yes. Share your product type, target scent or taste profile and approximate usage, and we will prepare suitable options as samples. After you test them in your own product, we plan your order based on your feedback.
Can you develop a bespoke fragrance for my brand?
Yes. We start with a brief covering your product type, audience, inspirations and target cost, prepare sample options and fine-tune based on your feedback. The approved formula is recorded so repeat orders deliver the same scent consistently.
What is IFRA and why does it matter?
IFRA (International Fragrance Association) is the global trade body of the fragrance industry and publishes standards for the safe use of fragrances. These standards set the maximum levels at which certain fragrance ingredients may be used in different product categories (e.g. lip products, fine fragrance, rinse-off products, candles). They are the main reference for safe fragrance dosage in cosmetics and household products.
How should I store fragrances?
Store fragrances, flavours and essential oils tightly closed, away from direct sunlight and heat, in a cool and dry place. Leaving containers open causes loss of volatile components and oxidation; use opened containers as soon as possible.
What information should I share to get a quote?
Your product type (e.g. liquid soap, candle, Turkish delight), the desired scent or taste profile, a reference product if you have one, estimated monthly usage and preferred pack size speed up our quote. You can share them via the contact form, phone or WhatsApp.
