Hydrosols are floral and plant waters obtained together with the essential oil during steam distillation, carrying water-soluble aromatic components; rose water is the best-known example. They are part of the Ottoria Esans Extracts range.
Where are they used?
| Application | Details |
|---|---|
| Toners and face mists | On their own or in formulas |
| Creams and lotions | Used in the water phase of a formula |
| Hair and body mists | Light, natural scent |
Selection and usage tips
- Hydrosols contain water and can spoil microbiologically; cosmetic formulas need a suitable preservative system.
- Store cool, dark and tightly closed.
- A hydrosol smells much milder than the essential oil; set expectations accordingly.
